Lake Chelan
Info/Review: http://www.lakechelan.com/Weekend Participants: Chris Stoneberg, Jason Standley, and Josh Standley, Jonathan Woodruff, Scott Myatich and our canine friends – Jackson, Macready, and Elle
This was a surprise road trip to Lake Chelan after a long night at the bars and looking for some time away and quality R&R. We did nothing but accomplish these despite leaving at 3 am and arriving in town at 6 am. I opted not to take a cat nap and played with the dogs, went fishing, and really took in a lot of the surroundings. Lake Chelan is one of the deepest lakes in America (3rd deepest freshwater lake in country at 1,541 ft) and is fed by several streams but is amazingly clear and clean. The name Chelan is actually a Salish Indian word meaning both lake and blue water. What really surprised me the most is that the places surrounding the lake pump the water of the lake into the houses as general tap water. That says a lot for a lake that you can take high speed water crafts on. Anyway a good place to visit and beautiful in June – very green before the summer heats completely blanket the area and turns much of the vegetation brown!
P.S. Sorry but pictures had to be borrowed again, upon returning and with lack of sleep I deleted most of mine but have a few good ones of the dogs enjoying the water.
