Lake Chelan
Info/Review: http://www.lakechelan.com/Weekend Participants: Chris Stoneberg, Jason Standley, and Josh Standley, Jonathan Woodruff, Scott Myatich and our canine friends – Jackson, Macready, and Elle

This was a surprise road trip to Lake Chelan after a long night at the bars and looking for some time away and quality R&R. We did nothing but accomplish these despite leaving at 3 am and arriving in town at 6 am. I opted not to take a cat nap and played with the dogs, went fishing, and really took in a lot of the surroundings. Lake Chelan is one of the deepest lakes in America (3rd deepest freshwater lake in country at 1,541 ft) and is fed by several streams but is amazingly clear and clean. The name Chelan is actually a Salish Indian word meaning both lake and blue water. What really surprised me the most is that the places surrounding the lake pump the water of the lake into the houses as general tap water. That says a lot for a lake that you can take high speed water crafts on. Anyway a good place to visit and beautiful in June – very green before the summer heats completely blanket the area and turns much of the vegetation brown!

P.S. Sorry but pictures had to be borrowed again, upon returning and with lack of sleep I deleted most of mine but have a few good ones of the dogs enjoying the water.
Float Trip '06 - first of two

Info: Camping in the Wenatchee Forest then floating the Yakima River, Ellensburg, WA– lazy man style
Participants: a lot of people, was not the organizer of this trip but it puts my party’s to rival…well over a 100 people!

Another fun weekend trip that was more of a party then anything else but a good time and a good chance to make new friends! The whole premise of the trip was to camp out – party, float down a river attached in a big group on any type of floatation device (some had air mattresses others had small inflatable boats) while basking in the sun and drinking some cold ones. A true lazy river, but it can’t go without noting that our group didn’t get our gear together till after the 2nd break when we finally made a good web of rafts and stayed out of the brush and branches along the rivers edge. We also had a twin motor system called JB and Scott that helped us navigate the waters!

May 2006 - Snoqualmie Falls

270 Foot Waterfall

Visited the falls when mom came out for her first trip to Seattle. Apparently these falls are greater in height then Niagara Falls and only 45 minutes outside of Seattle.

April 2006 – Lime Kiln Trail
Elevation Gain: ~500 ftTime: 4 hours (RT)Distance (RT): 7 milesDifficulty: Easy

Hike Participants: Andres Villaveces, John Kirk (JK), Scott Myatich, and the Black Night of Sheffield AKA – Jackson

This was our second hike of the season; unfortunately we haven’t been able to go every week due to work and schedules but summers right around the corner so by starting this blog and trying to keep up with efforts of informing those interested in my adventures I hope this encourages more hikes and outdoor adventures. Anyway this was a great hike and unfortunately we didn’t bring a camera so the pictures attached are from another website but give a good impression of what it looks like. Highly recommended and wasn’t very busy at all, if you go when its warm out maybe think about packing a lunch and taking a little dip in the creek at the trail end before you need to turn back to the trailhead. Jackson explored this and it looked like fun, fortunately we did not have to jump in after him…..

Twins Falls Hike
Elevation Gain: 500 ft
Time (RT): ~1.5 hours
Distance (R
T): 2.5 miles
Difficulty: Easy

Hike Participants: Andres Villaveces, John Kirk (JK), Scott Myatich, and the Black Night of Sheffield AKA - Jackson

First hike of season was a fun one and started off at a low elevation which really only climbed a short bit but because it was so early in the season we went from dry ground to snow at the top. Pretty cool hike and great views of a pair of waterfalls! The trail was easy but a little to populated with other people so would probably be a better week day hike or possible good trail run on the weekends.

This blog will be updated as adventures are taken and hopefully within a timely manner of them actually occurring. The primary intent is to avoid sending a mass email of all the fun and occasionally crazy trips I tend to get involved in but to also keep everyone posted and maybe a little envious of the Mecca I live in. Hope these blogs find you in good health and spirits and remember that every adventure is right around the corner so never stop exploring!

Best wishes and Happy Trails!
